This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how AVKO, Inc. d/b/a Huddle Sitters (“AVKO”), a Delaware corporation, with a mailing address of 4730 University Way NE, Suite 104 (PMB 2002), Seattle, WA 98105-4424 collects, uses, and shares information about You. This Policy applies to all individuals and businesses who access Our Platform or Site, use Our Services, and otherwise interact with Us.
As used in this Policy, “We,” “Our,” and “Us” refer to AVKO; “You” and “Your” refers to the person using the Platform and/or any Service; “Platform” refers to the mobile application, software, processes, tools, and features, and the manner and process by which You communicate with Us and share information; “Site” refers to any AVKO website and all of its sub-sites and webpages; and “Services” refer to the services on the Platform.
This Policy is in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions. It is part of the legal agreement between You and Us. By accessing the Platform or the Site, You consent to and are bound by this Policy and the Terms and Conditions for as long as You continue to use the Platform or Site, and consent to Our collection, processing, use, and sharing of Personally Identifiable, Device, Account, and Booking Information (as each is defined below) for the purposes set forth herein. If You do not agree to this Policy or the Terms, You may not access or otherwise use the Platform, Site, or any Service.
1.Types of Information (Definitions)
As part of Your use of the Platform and the Services, the following types of information may be collected:
- Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) is information that identifies or can reasonably be used to identify You and includes (but may not necessarily be limited to) Your name and username, address, phone numbers, email address, date of birth, and location. PII will include information You provide as to a child, such as name, date of birth, and gender. PII does not include information that is collected anonymously or demographic information which is not reasonably connectable to an identified individual.
- Device and Technical Information (“Device Information”) is information automatically collected when you access and use our Platform and is information relating to your mobile device (phone), computer, and other information associated with the device You use, which includes, but may not be limited to, the IP address or other unique identifiers that are automatically assigned to Your device used to access the Platform; the type of device and type of browser You are using; the third party website from which Your visit to or Site originated; the operating system You are using; the domain name of Your internet service provider; the search terms You use on our Site; the specific pages that you visit or access; the time of day and duration of your visits, internet connection, referring/exit pages, and clickstream data. This may include general or precise location information if You permit Your device to share such information with Us. You may control location sharing through Your device settings.
- Account Information. Account information is information that We ask for and You provide to set up, maintain, and use Your account. It includes your user profile, email address, phone number, name, images, and other information related to Your account.
- Booking Information is the data and information with respect to and arising out of Your interactions on the Platform and with others on the Platform, and includes the content or information You provide, the opportunities and bookings You post, respond to, or accept, and may also include the date and time of day, location, identity of users, details of the transaction, charge and amounts, and the like.
- Third Party Information is information we may receive about You from third parties, such as Google and third-party service providers used in connection with the Platform (e.g., OpenAI, Customer.io, Segment, Cloudflare, Amplitude, Twilio, and Stripe).
2.How Information Is Collected
You directly provide Us Account Information when You create an account. Some Account Information is also PII. You indirectly provide Us Device Information when You use and access our Platform. Device Information is collected by tracking technologies. We (and our service providers) Use tracking technologies, such as cookies and web beacons, to collect information. Cookies are small data files stored on Your hard drive or in device memory that help Us improve our Platform and Your experience. Clear GIFs and Pixel Tags (also known as web beacons) and other technologies are also used. Clear GIFs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are embedded invisibly on web pages. Pixel Tags are a small piece of code embedded invisibly on a website to identify and track the user and user behavior. We may use both Clear GIFs and Pixel Tags in connection with our Platform to, among other things, track the activities of Platform visitors, help us manage content, and compile statistics about Platform usage.
We receive PII and Booking Information directly from You when You communicate with Us and when You seek or use any of the Services. We receive Third Party Information when you allow or authorize those third-parties to share information with Us. We may access certain personal information from public sources, such as social media, and combine it with information We have.
3.Use of Information
We Use all of the information we receive to provide the Platform to You, to communicate with You, establish and maintain your account, enable You to communicate with other users, facilitate Your interactions, manage our relationship with You, customize experiences, and respond to requests and questions.
We also use the information We receive to operate our business and our products and services, which includes: to collect, provide, maintain, and personalize our Platform; to improve our Platform and Services; to develop new features and functions, and to develop and offer new products, services, and/or recommendations; to detect, prevent, and address technical issues; detect and prevent fraudulent transactions, monitor against theft, and protect against criminal activity; provide support and review feedback; defend our legal rights and comply with applicable law; produce and use data analytics and reports containing anonymized (de-identified) data and information.
We may further use Your information in conjunction with or within artificial, machine, or other intelligence, and other similar technology (collectively as “AI”) to help us provide and improve the Platform; to process information on Your behalf and to support Your use of the Platform; to develop new services, features, tools, or technologies; and to evaluate, comprehend, distill, and use the information and data on the Platform. Unless expressly stated otherwise, We do not use Your PII to train third-party generalized AI models. Certain information may be transmitted to third-party AI processors (such as OpenAI) solely for the purpose of generating or delivering the requested output.
4.Data Retention
We retain PII, Device Information, Account Information, Booking Information, and Third Party Information for as long as necessary to provide the Platform and Services, to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, to enforce our agreements, and as otherwise required to operate and maintain the Platform.
When information is no longer needed for these purposes, We will delete, anonymize, or de-identify the information or otherwise remove it from Our active systems. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, how it is used, the nature of the Services provided, and applicable law.
5.Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where You reside, You may have certain rights regarding Your information, including:
- The right to access the personal information We hold about You.
- The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- The right to request deletion of Your PII.
- The right to request a copy or portability of Your information.
- The right to restrict or object to certain data processing activities.
- The right to opt-out of receiving marketing communications.
- The right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information (if applicable under law).
We will not discriminate against You for exercising any rights You have.
6.Exercising Your Rights
You may submit a request to access, correct, update, or delete certain information about You, or to otherwise exercise any rights You may have relating to Your information, by emailing us at help@huddlesitters.com or by using any in-app privacy tools We may make available.
We may require verification of Your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
7.Marketing Communications and Notifications
We may send You emails, SMS messages, push notifications, or other communications related to Your account, bookings, updates, and promotional content. You may opt out of receiving marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in any email, by adjusting Your device settings for push notifications, or by contacting Us at help@huddlesitters.com.
Transactional or service-related communications cannot always be opted out of as they are necessary to provide the Services (for example, booking confirmations, availability requests, password resets, and safety-related notices).
8.Protection of Information
We take seriously the privacy of those who use the Platform. We employ commercially reasonable security measures to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information We collect. These measures include the use of encryption methods and administrative access to Platform data. We further take steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Your information is not transferred to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information. However, despite Your and Our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse. As such, We cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information transmitted to us over the internet and hence accept no liability for any unintentional disclosure. We also encourage You to not share your account login and/or password with any other individual. Your account login and/or password is sensitive and your sharing of your account information may lead to additional exposure to your account.
9.Security Incidents and Data Breach Notification
If We become aware of a security incident that compromises the security of Your PII, We will take reasonable steps to investigate, mitigate potential harm, and notify You and applicable authorities when required under applicable law.
10.Sharing of Information
We do not sell Your information to third-parties. We may share PII and Booking Information with Our consultants, partners, service providers, and other third-parties for Us to provide services to You, to operate and improve the Platform, and to operate and improve our business and how users interact with and use the Platform. The third-parties include Google, OpenAI, Customer.io, Segment, Cloudflare, Amplitude, Twilio, and Stripe.
We may also share information we receive or collect in order to detect and respond to violations of our Terms; where required to comply with the law, legal process, or lawful requests by public authorities; and inquiries from our lawyers and other professional advisors where necessary to obtain advice to comply with the law and protect our business interests.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify You.
11.Links to Third-Party Sites and Services
The Platform or Site may contain links to third-party websites, applications, or services. We do not control such third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or security measures. We encourage You to review the privacy policies of any third-party site You visit.
12.Third-Party Service Providers
We share information with Third-Party Service Providers only as necessary for them to perform services on Our behalf, and each has its own privacy notices or policies. These may include:
- Stripe — payment processing and financial transaction support.
- Segment (Twilio Segment) — customer data infrastructure used to collect, unify, and route event and usage data to other tools and analytics platforms.
- Amplitude — analytics and product usage measurement.
- OpenAI — processing of content for AI-powered features within the Platform.
- Google, Cloudflare, and related infrastructure providers — hosting, security, load balancing, and performance optimization.
- Customer.io, Twilio, and similar vendors — communication management, email, SMS, and notifications.
These service providers may have access to PII, Device Information, or Booking Information solely to perform the services on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect Your information.
13.Cookies, Tracking Technologies, and Your Choices
In addition to the tracking technologies described above, third parties may set their own cookies or tracking technologies when You use the Platform. These technologies may be used for analytics, security, functionality, and service delivery.
You may configure Your browser or device settings to block or disable cookies; however, doing so may affect certain features or functionality of the Platform.
We may also provide in-app or online tools to manage cookie or tracking preferences where required by law.
14.Privacy of Children / Health Care Information
We do not offer the Platform or any of Our services, nor do we direct any of Our activities or services, to any natural person under the age of 18 (“Children”). We do not knowingly collect PII from any Children, and any Child may access our Platform only with the consent and involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not use or share Children’s information for marketing or advertising purposes.
If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Child has provided us with PII, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected PII from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
We are not a health care provider and the Platform is not subject to HIPAA. Do not submit medical or health-related information through the Platform.

16.Notice to California Residents
This Section applies only to natural persons who reside in the State of California.
California law grants California residents certain rights and imposes restrictions on particular business practices. The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (“CCPA”), defines “personal information” to mean information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular California resident or household. Personal information does not include publicly available, deidentified or aggregated information or lawfully obtained, truthful information that is a matter of public concern. For purposes of this “Notice to California Residents” Section, We refer to this information as “Personal Information.” We are not compensated for the transfer of any of Your Personal Information to any third party (including third-party ad-network providers).
Categories of Personal Information collected
We are required to notify California residents, at or before the point of collection of their Personal Information, the categories of Personal Information collected and the purposes for which such information is used:
- Name, contact information, and identifiers — name, company name, address, email address, account information, social security number, driver’s license number, and other similar identifiers.
- Employment history — professional or employment-related information.
- Education information — non-publicly available academic or other educational information.
- Commercial information — records of personal property, products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies.
- Financial information — bank account number, credit card number, debit card number, or other financial information.
- Customer records — paper and electronic customer and business records that you have uploaded onto our system, including the information specified in this Policy.
- Protected classifications — protected classifications under California or federal law, such as race, sex, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, etc.
- Usage data — internet activity information, including browsing history, search history, and information regarding a resident’s interaction with an internet website, application, or advertisement.
- Geolocation data — geographic location information about a user or device.
- Audio/visual — audio, electronic, visual, thermal, olfactory, or other similar information.
- Medical and health insurance information.
- Biometric, genetic, or neural data and information.
- Profiles and inferences — characteristics used to create a profile or reflect a consumer’s preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes.
Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
You may submit a request to opt out of sales or sharing by emailing us at help@huddlesitters.com.
Verifiable Requests for Copy, Deletion, and Right to Know
Subject to certain exceptions, California residents have the right to make the following requests, at no charge, up to twice every 12 months:
- Right of Deletion. The right to request deletion of their Personal Information that We have collected about them and to have such personal information deleted, subject to certain exemptions, including where such information is necessary to complete the transaction for which the Personal Information was collected, provide a good or service requested by the customer, or reasonably anticipated within the context of a business’s ongoing business relationship with the customer, or otherwise perform a contract between a business and the customer.
- Right to a Copy. The right to request a copy of the specific pieces of Personal Information that we have collected about them in the prior 12 months and to have this delivered, free of charge, either (a) by mail or (b) electronically in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily useable format that allows the individual to transmit this information to another entity without hindrance.
- Right to Know. The right to request that we provide them certain information about how we have handled their Personal Information in the prior 12 months, including the categories of Personal Information collected and the purposes for which such information was collected (in each case as specified in this Privacy Policy).
- Shine the Light. California residents may request, free of charge, a list of what Personal Information (if any) we provided to third parties in the preceding year for that third party’s direct-marketing purposes. You may make one request per calendar year. In your request, please attest that you are a California resident and provide a current California address for your response. You may request this information in writing by contacting us as set forth in the User Agreement. Please allow up to thirty (30) days for a response.
We will comply with your request upon verification of your identity. We will verify your identity either to a “reasonable degree of certainty” or a “reasonably high degree of certainty” depending on the sensitivity of the Personal Information and the risk of harm to you by unauthorized disclosure, deletion, or correction as applicable.
Incentives and Non-Discrimination
The CCPA prohibits discrimination against California consumers for exercising their rights under the CCPA and imposes requirements on financial incentives. If a consumer exercises their rights under CCPA, businesses may not discriminate against them including by denying or providing a different level or quality of goods or services or charging or suggesting that a business will charge different prices or rates or impose penalties, unless doing so is reasonably related to the value provided by the consumer’s data.
